Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I've worked in the medical imaging field for a long time and spent years working on applications in oncology. Yet, you never expect to hear the phrase "you have cancer".

I walked into the hospital and every oncology unit with a perspective on what happens "behind the curtain" for all of these medical and medical technology advancements. To be able to see how every medical imaging scan helped my team make the best decisions, and to see the drugs that were once only in cancer research labs be part of the arsenal to help patients lead their best life is nothing short of astounding.

Most people don't get a chance to go from being cancer patient and back to ultrasound developer during active treatment. Sitting in meetings at work where we heard about researchers developing the next cancer treatment was encouraging. Hearing from customers who need next generation tools from us to help them do that research to make a better drug or to better understand tumor biology  carries a lot of weight when you're one of the patients who can benefit from these developments.
